This paper takes the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) Library as a case study to examine the practical aspects of managing and operating university history and special collections. NTNU Library assumed responsibility for school archive in 2006 and founded a dedicated division in 2007. Since then, the library has continued to promote the acquisition, preservation, digitization, and utilization of historical and special collections. In recent years, the library has diversified its outreach through permanent and thematic exhibitions, manga publications, storytelling, and virtual reality experiences. It has also collaborated with external institutions to organize workshops and exchange activities, thereby enhancing its archival research and management capacities. This paper concludes with three practical recommendations: integrating internal and external resources through cross-departmental collaboration; introducing innovative exhibition approaches and digital technologies; and strengthening external connections and encouraging broader public engagement. These strategies aim to further the preservation and innovative development of university archives, laying a solid foundation for the sustainable management of cultural heritage. |
