The study analyzed the studies concerned with the social and affective factors of gifted students during the thirty-one-year period 1981- 2012. There were 185 original studies which was published in National Science Council and 18 journals. The studies were classified into three topics, and six dimensions. The data were compiled and analyzed based on numbers, research subjects, research topics, and research methods. The findings of this study were as follows: (a) The National Sci-ence Council published the most articles between 1996 and 2000, while journals published the most between 2006 and 2010. Furthermore, between 2006 and 2012, 42% of the pertinent studies were published. (b) The vast majority of studies were published in Journal of Gifted Education. (c) The most frequently investigated pop-ulations were elementary school students and secondary school students. (d) The vast majority of studies were quantitative empirical investigations. (e) Topics kept changing every year. The topics of published studies are mainly in personal devel-opment, in turn, are environmental adaptation and affective counseling. |
