This study uses the data from Labor Insurance database from July 2016 to December 2022, and cross-references with Individual Income Tax data to explore the main reasons why those who have completed parental leave are unable to return to the workplace. This article tracks the career development of those who applied for parental leave after the expiration of the period based on whether they were insured (employed) during the reference period (July 2022 - December 2022). They can be divided into three categories: employed, those who were employed but unemployed at the reference time, and those who are completely unemployed, among which the proportion of those who are completely unemployed is about 20%. Data shows that the career choices of those who have completed parental leave are affected by several factors, including personal characteristics, the number of parental leave applications submitted, family characteristics, company size, and industry characteristics. In addition, the presence of young dependents in the household increased pressure to return to work, while higher household income offered greater麍xibility in balancing work and family responsibilities. |
