The bike riding activity is healthy and friendly for environment, it has been prospectively developed in Taiwan. This study adopted the Dong-Fong Corridor biking trail as the study area to analyze visitors’environmental perceptions, place attachment and their differences based on social backgrounds as well as their relationships. Convenient sampling approach was used to collect data from a questionnaire survey in the study area and came up with 310 valid samples data for SPSS statistical analyses. The major study results have shown that (1) there was generally no significant difference in the factors of the environmental perceptions and place attachment when the visitor respondents’backgrounds were different, which may indicate that hikers’perception toward environment and place attachment were quite consistent; (2) there were pretty high and positive significant relationships between the factors of“natural landscape”and“local specialty”from the environmental perception variables and the“tourism specialty”from place attachment variables, which may indicate that the combination of natural environment and local specialty attachment would be an important principle for biking trail planning and management. |
