數年來，「美中新冷戰」的這個表現，很頻繁地用於形容現在的美中對立。大眾媒體也重複出現「美中新冷戰」、「美中經濟冷戰」或是「美中新科技冷戰」等詞彙。不僅是記者，甚至連部分的國際關係研究學者，也都極度隨意地使用這類用語，其頻率之高，形成令人無法忽視的輿論浪潮。本文的主旨在於，透過意識形態與經濟關係的觀點，驗證「美中新冷戰」這個詞彙的適當性。究竟這種源自於美蘇冷戰的類推用語，就歷史脈絡而言是適當的表達方式嗎？

現在の米中対立を形容する、米中新冷戦という表現が数年来頻繁に用いられている。メディアは「米中新冷戦」「米中経済冷戦」あるいは「米中ハイテク冷戦」という言葉を繰り返している。ジャーナリストに限らず一部の国際関係研究者ですら、こうした表現を極めて気軽に使用しており、その頻度の高さから無視できない世論形成の流れを生んでいる。本稿は米中新冷戦という表現の妥当性を、イデオロギー並びに経済関係の観点から検証する。はたしてこの米ソ冷戦からの類推は歴史の適切な適用なのであろうか？
The phrase“New Cold War between the United States and China”has been frequently used over the past several years to describe the current US-China confrontation. The media repeats the phrase“New Cold War between the United States and China,”“the Economic Cold War between the United States and China,”or the“High-Tech Cold War between the United States and China.”Not only journalists, but even some international relations scholars use these expressions very casually, and the high frequency of such expressions has seemingly created a public opinion that cannot be ignored. This paper examines the appropriateness of the phrase“new Cold War between the United States and China”from the viewpoint of ideology and economic relations. Is this analogy from the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union an accurate application of history?
