People with disabilities live in an ableist world and are inevitably subject to prejudice and discrimination from others, especially in the form of extremely subtle“microaggressions.” This article aims to organize existing research on“ableist microaggressions”and call on relevant scholars to pay attention to this lesser-known research field. Firstly, this article explores the connotation and classification of ableist microaggressions. It then analyzes existing evaluation tools and the negative impact of ableist microaggressions on people with disabilities. Finally, nine specific suggestions for future research are extracted from the criticism and reflection found in research projects on microaggression. |
