Under the influence of new public management concepts, university governance has begun to incorporate entrepreneurial spirit, which is reflected in the government's requirements and regulations for information disclosure in universities. The aim is to ensure that universities can fulfill their social responsibilities and continuously exert social influence through public supervision. Although there is consensus across various sectors on the importance of information disclosure in universities, as the social environment rapidly changes, the items and content of information disclosure should also keep pace with the times, undergoing regular reviews and revisions to better meet public needs and enhance the effectiveness of university governance. Based on this, the article uses Japan as a reference, reviewing the specific measures implemented by the Japanese government to strengthen information disclosure in universities, hoping to serve as a reference for improving related policies in Taiwan. The article's structure begins with a discussion on the origin and importance of information disclosure in universities; it then addresses the principles and levels of information disclosure; follows with a case study of Japan, explaining the government's regulations and specific practices regarding information disclosure in universities; and finally, it summarizes the insights and suggestions that could be valuable for Taiwan. |
