Oral health care is an important part of Primary School student’s health promotion, and it requires the efforts of both family and schools. In this study, we recruited the students from 25 non-urban elementary schools participating in the government's school dental hygiene program during 2019‒2023. The results showed that the average caries incidence rate of students was about 50%, which was higher than the average car¬ies incidence rate, 22.34%, of Tainan City elementary and middle school students. The impact factors of the student’s oral health include the level of support from the family and schools, and the degree of participation of school staff in oral health care is the key to improving the health of students. This study suggests the way to improve the student’s oral health care through the creation of a friendly organizational atmosphere in school, establishing a good partnership with government health depart¬ments and dentists, and encouraging school staff, students, and volun¬teers to participate in the promotion of oral health care activities. |
