In the long-standing culture of hermits, we observe an interesting assessment that true hermits should not be seen. For the phenomenon that this assessment is aimed at, many hermits have been continuously proclaiming their own reclusive behavior and values. Aside from those false hermits who seek fame and reputation, this essay draws on the ''chaos'' and ''madness'' of Zhuangzi to understand the question of ''why the(true)hermit is seen'' through the concept of social performance studies. |
