Law serves as the foundation of societal operations. In Fall 2021, a pioneering course titled ''Daily law in Chinese'' was launched for international undergraduates, spanning novice to intermediate levels of Chinese proficiency. This course was designed to simultaneously develop legal acumen and language skills among students of varied linguistic backgrounds. The Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach, which organically integrates content and language learning, provided crucial guidance for this legal Chinese course. This study assesses the course's effectiveness and feasibility through an 18-week period using teaching logs, practical tasks, instructor feedback, and course questionnaires, exploring the application of the CLIL model in teaching Chinese and Law to mixed Chinese proficiency learners. |
