Since its establishment in 1982, the Library of Luminary Buddhist Institute has been dedicated to the collection, organization, and provision of Buddhist resources, with a strong emphasis on library management and resource sharing. In 2021, the library was awarded the“The First Ministry of Education Library Contribution Awards"as a model library. This article introduces the library's management philosophy and features. The management philosophy is summarized into five key areas: emphasizing mission, keeping pace with the times, embracing professionalism, resource sharing, and talent cultivation. The features of the library are outlined in eight aspects: developing and promoting the Buddhist Classification Scheme, founding the first academic journal for special libraries in Taiwan, hosting annual library seminars, integrating Buddhist resources and establishing a Buddhist bibliography center, creating various digital Buddhist resources and assisting in the digitization of Buddhist journals, editing and publishing specialized library reference tools to support research and development, promoting mindfulness and focus in reading, and providing attentive reader services. |
