This study aims to analyze the difference in the presentation and distribution of disaster prevention education themes and substantive content across various subjects in Taiwanese high school textbooks. The purpose is to offer reference points for subsequent curriculum planning by high school teachers and textbook compilers. The research focuses on one subjects - Earth Science - from the Hwa Kang Publishers' textbooks for the 111th academic year in Taiwan. The study employs content analysis methodology. Using the ''Categories of Disaster Prevention Education Learning Themes and Substantive Content'' table from the Ministry of Education's 2020 National Curriculum Guidelines, which includes integration guidelines for junior high, senior high, and ordinary senior high schools, as a research tool, the study conducts an analysis and annotation of various units in the Hanlin Publishers' textbooks for the 111th academic year in Taiwanese high schools. This study conducted statistical analyses of inter-rater reliability and researcher reliability to summarize the presentation and disparities of disaster prevention education themes and substantive content across the overall textbooks and individual subjects. This study shows that among the earth science textbooks in the field of natural sciences in senior high schools, regardless of elementary schools, junior high schools, or senior high schools, the issue learning topics have the most substantive connotation of the issue of disaster risk and impact. |
