The progress of mental health system and deficit of community psychiatric service in Taiwan, made most of the mental disorder patients must go back to their home. But, chronic psychiatric disease induces impact in many fields; victims of these illnesses might lose their function and role, and finally become family's burden. Family disruption, stigma, caregiver's strain and client degeneracy might increase progressly. Depression is the common subjective emotional al problems among caregivers. This research utilized both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore the effectiveness of supportive group in reducing major caregiver's burden and negative mood, and the factors related to the effect. The results showed that as the number of group participation increased in general caregivers' level of depression and burden decreased. caregivers' benefits came from group other members, group actives, group workers and experience group. The implications and limitativs of the results were discussed |
