It is a great honor and pleasure to be here today to share with you some of my thoughts and observations about contemporary stateoftheart psychodrama and point to its future challenges. I am grateful to Dr. Agnes Chu-Chung Wu who came with the idea of inviting me to Taipei to meet and talk with you about these issues, and to exchange views. Indeed, this is a privilege to be here and to be placed in a dual role: as a teacher and as a student at the same time. Personally, the visit to Taiwan is a learning experience for me, an opportunity to understand how psychodrama is thought of in this country, and how it is incorporated into your cultural heritage. The title of my presentation is ''Contemporary psychodrama: An expansion of the past or a quiet revolution?'' Let me say at the outset that in discussing the subject, I will explore some past facets? not all? of psychodrama of the past that became the characteristics of contemporary psychodrama. I will try to present some fundamental concepts, and address what I believe are the challenges for psychodrama in the coming years. |
