The rise of self-media has brought new ethical issues. There have been controversies and related research on podcast media ethics abroad, and 2020 is the first year of podcasts in Taiwan. The rapid growth of podcast creators and listeners has made podcasts in a stage of vigorous development. There is no research on podcast ethics, so this article aims to explore the ethical aspect of podcast hosts' cognition and concern for media ethics and whoshould regulate media ethics. This study conducted a qualitative research interview with eight podcast hosts in Taiwan. The findings are as follows: 1. The podcast hosts think that media ethics is important, but they think that the audience does not care about media ethics, and the media literacy is generally insufficient and easy to be manipulated. 2. The host of the podcast pays attention to the non-privacy, responsibility, neutrality and objectivity, avoidance of confrontation, authenticity, protection of copyright, content diversity, prohibition of discrimination and classification system in media ethics. 3. Podcast hosts believe that podcast media ethics should be regulated by podcast communities, organization associations or platforms, and the government should not be involved. |
