The aim of this study was to present the features of interactional group therapy in a neurotic ward. Firstly, we tried to review the working model and the characteristics of inpatient group therapy including the role of the group leader. Secondly, several challenges of inpatient group therapy in a neurotic ward were revealed and discussed. Thirdly, we applied some psychodynamic concepts, including mentalizing, paranoid-schizoid position and depressive position, and the basic assumptions of groups, into the practice of group therapy, and some possible interventions were offered and further discussed. |
