李渝與郭松棻彼此相伴40年，是家人更是文學知音，一同度過生命中美好的時光。郭松棻先李渝離開人世，留給李渝的是深深的懷念，這樣的情懷寄託在小說，同時也藉由文字留存了一份永恆感。小說作為一種虛構性文本，但背後有其作者精神價值觀，以及個人生命歷程的反映。《九重葛與美少年》在去世前一年重新整理出版，此短篇小說集有重大的意義，除了緬懷舊日時光的美好，也反映作者認為透過自身努力，克服生存上種種的困境，生命將有更上一層，嶄新的超越。筆者藉由分析小說人物中各式生存的困境，諸如創作枯竭、焦慮感、憂鬱症、自殺等，這些許是作者遭遇過，也會是身而為人可能會遇到的處境。李渝試圖用輕靈、輕盈之筆處理沉重的課題，賦予困境一種轉機，重新振作、提起精神將有著嶄新且充滿希望的可能性，那便會是經過艱辛歷練後，新生命的開展。

Guo Songfen passed away before Li Yu, leaving Li Yu with a deep sense of nostalgia, which is entrusted to the novel, and at the same time retains a sense of eternity through the text. Fiction is a kind of fictional text, but behind it are the author’s spiritual values and the reflection of his personal life history. This collection of short stories, which was reorganized and re-published one year before his death, is of great significance. In addition to reminiscing about the beauty of old times, it also reflects the author’s belief that through his own efforts to overcome the difficulties of survival, his life will be able to reach a new level and transcend new horizons. The author analyzes the various existential dilemmas of the fictional characters, such as creative exhaustion, anxiety, depression, and suicide, which may have been encountered by the author, and may also be encountered by the author as a human being. Li Yu tries to deal with the heavy issues with a light and graceful brush, giving the predicaments a chance to revitalize and raise the spirit of a new and hopeful possibility, which would be the beginning of a new life after a hard experience.
