TV children's programs exist in Taiwan media ecosystem for more than half-century. However, no matter is resources, practitioners, broadcasting blocks or hours, Children's TV has been situated on marginal and vulnerable position of the TV field, unable to resist the negative impact of media mercantilism that treat children as commodities. The reason is that the official media policies have long-term inefficiency for children's TV program, not only makes the children's TV industry unable to develop, but makes a crisis of shriveling up. Moreover, the public failed to identify the publicity of media has dual qualities in market and education, the resource from cultural allowance is so poor that can't support enough public power to protect the children's right of communication. This article review the development of children's TV in Taiwan from a policy perspective, presentation its current situation, and discuss publicity of media and foreign examples, to reflect how children's TV can escape from squeeze situation to survive. |
