Objectives: The aim of this study is to understand the psychiatrists' training for group psychotherapy and to provide some suggestions for improvement. Methods: The condition of the training program for group psychotherapy in training hospital reported by the leader of the program was collected through questionnaire. Besides, the reports of the psychiatrists getting board in recent 3 years were also collected. Results: Reported questionnaires from 17 training hospitals and questionnaires from 80 psychiatrists were collected in this study. The annular number of residents is 0 to 2 in 68.8% to 75% hospital. The difficulties in learning group psychotherapy were lacking of trainers (59.0%), poor support of the chief(20.5%) and few peers(19.2%). There were 14 teaching hospital taking psychodrama important, but just 3 of them provided this training. Only 4 training hospitals provided training programs for family therapy. Over 90% of the training hospitals agreed to joint the shared training program. Conclusions: The key problems for the training of group psychotherapy were few residents and lacking of teachers. If we want to overcome these problems, we should build up the systems for shared training and supervision of the group therapists. |
