The epitaph of Zhangsun Xin was unearthed in the Luoyang region in recent years. Through research on this epitaph from the Northern Wei dynasty, the author shows that Zhangsun Xin belonged to the Zhangsun Fei clan in the Wei Shu （魏書） . This clan occupied a special place in the system of the imperial guards, from the Pingcheng era to the Luoyang era. The epitaph also records Dujin Town（度斤鎮）and Hehouyan Town （賀侯延鎮） , providing some clues about military towns in the Northern Wei. |
