The Research History of “Tribes Disbandment”

Tribes disbandment was the important policy in Emperor Daowu of Northern Wei's （北魏道武帝） period. Kenichi Matsushita searched and collected essays about the theme, which can be divided into two items of tribes disbandment and tribes reorganization. Besides, he analyzed scholars' different interprets of tribes disbandment with three historical records, the time of put into practice 、 targets 、 the disbanded tribes' life style and interpret of Gao-Che biography（高車傳）. Finally, the author considered that should be carefully to analyze three historical records about tribes disbandment, and founded on Ling Min Qiu Zhang system（領民酋長制）, in that event not only understand that tribes disbandment was disbandment or reorganization, but also can be close to the truth.
