STEAM教育融入英語課堂實作之任務導向教學：以執頭偶戲劇表演為例

STEAM-Integrated Task-Based Instruction in the English Learning Classroom: Puppet Performance as An Example

近年STEAM教育的提倡與重視，在英語課堂中融入跨領域實作概念與應用賦予英語教學嶄新價值與意義。本研究旨在探討以「任務導向教學」融入「STEAM教育」，以學生為中心，選擇以執頭偶戲劇表演為任務，探討學生英語學習成效。研究對象為8位來自中台灣某大學一年級應用外語系學生。研究方法採質性研究，透過課堂互動狀況，觀察和訪談學生在完成任務過程中，對此任務執行後的STEAM分析與英語學習成效。結果顯示除學生對「任務導向教學」融入「STEAM教育」持肯定態度外，對自身英語能力提升也很滿意。

In recent years, there has been a promotion and emphasis on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. The integration of interdisciplinary concepts and applications in English classrooms has brought new value and significance to English teaching. This study aims to investigate the students’learning outcomes by STEAM Integrated Task based Instruction into English Classroom, a puppetry performance as an example. The participations were eight freshman students from the Department of Applied Foreign Languages in a university in central Taiwan. Through classroom observation and students’interview while doing the task, the research aims to analyze different aspects of STEAM and assess the effectiveness of English learning outcomes. The results indicated that the students were satisfied with STEAM integrated task based instruction in English classroom and the improvement in their English language skills.
