Venerable Master Hsing Yun regards that“All sentient beings have Buddha Nature”,“I am a Buddha”and“There is no distinction between the mind, Buddha and sentient beings”are the purpose of the book. He explains why Sumati asks the questions about the ordinary conduct of life to Buddha. Master Hsing Yun believes that there is a Buddha everywhere in the world. It not only exists in paradise, but also occurs in mind.“Ten Paths to Happiness”is a classic to pay respect to female. Buddha takes the eight-year-old girl, Sumati, as a public to answer a series of questions about the practice of“The Way of the Bodhisattva”. Regardless of age and gender, all being can equally pursue the bodhisattva that is egocentric, altruistic, and complete Buddhahood. In the article, we attempt to analyze modern interpretation of“The Way of the Bodhisattva”and female status in Buddhism through Master Hsing Yun's commentaries and examples on“Ten Paths to Happiness”. |
