Master Xing Yun wrote a biography of“Yu Lin Guo Shi”. The content of this book refers to the story of a Buddhist master named Yu Lin in the Shunzhi emperor of the Qing Dynasty. In particular, after accepting the various karma tests of the Dharma, it shows the cultivation experience of a monk. This publication was first published in Life magazine in 1953, and was published in a novel in 1954 after being serialized for one year and six months. The book was highly evaluated after its publication and was later produced into a film and television drama and a stage play. This study wants to understand the narrative features of the novel and how does the playwright rewrite the story? Therefore, this study is based on the 2012 SunHope Taiwanese Opera Troupe ''Yu Lin Guo Shi'' (incited version) as an example to do this research. |
