The“poetry world”is a culture domain constructed of power capital. The accumulating of capital forms the new culture power and strategy, controls the orientation of mainstream poetry study. The polls or the selected poetry collection become an important symbol of one specific poetry society competing against or cooperating with another. In the long history of poetry, poetry societies (poetry periodical) play the key roles that lead or redirect poetry movement. Different groups, via different connections, construct different movements and operations. They try hard to create or to change the consciousness, to witness the thought, to promote the trend of era. Thus, the polls or selected poetry collection become a very interesting phenomenon in the“poetry world”. Moreover, the internet poet's solitude disposition of anti-culture-hegemonism forces the traditional poetry society to build up“classic model”by different polls and selected poetry collection, to eliminate the other poetry societies with different aesthetic viewpoint, to strengthen their (or his) culture power, and to resist (or to ignore?) a group of internet writers full of fighting character. This essay takes several“poet polls”holding by Taiwan paper-based poetry society and media as objects of discussion. On one hand we can observe“poet polls”through another viewpoint of contending culture power and constructing canon. This can prove that the development trends of Taiwan modern poetry are formed via dialectics of“resist/refuse (deconstruct/overturn)”,“incorporation/use-back”between mainstream and edge thoughts, to sculpture so called“classic model”, and to elevate the specific poetry society's culture power. While in this power structure, we can find out that the past paper-based“poetry world”seems to place indigent poets on the edge, down to the 21st century, the same group ignores the existence of internet“poetry world”on purpose. Thus,“the 100 major internet poet polls”can be considered derision to paper-based“poetry world”. On the other hand, this essay will discuss the Taiwan post-war poetry development tendency. Since the 21th century, the advance by leaps and bounds of publishing media and writing tools encourages young poet join the internet environment. This made paper-based media and digital media become deviation parts, but they paradoxically construct each other at the same time. We can take this paradox as a gap to discuss creating and shifting of modern poetry Canon in Taiwan“modern poetry world”. |
