The main purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between principal leadership style and school organizational climate in elementary and junior high schools. The results might serve as references for the educational practice. The subjects of this study consisted of 1,260 teachers drawn by stratified random sampling, from the elementary and junior high schools. The data collected from two questionnaires were analyzed by two-way analysis of variance. The major findings of this study were as follows: 1. The interaction effect between school level and leadership style only exististed in the “esprit” dimension. 2. There were substantially significant differences between elementary and junior high schools on disengagement hindrance, esprit and intimacy dimensions. Based on the above findings of the study, some suggestions for the improvements of the educational practice in elementary and junior high schools were recommended. |
