The main purpose of this study is to conduct a review study of the plans of technical and vocational education for Taiwan Area, the Republic of China,during 1970’s, so that some recent trends may be generalized for educational plans in this field. Research methods used in this study include literature survey, visiting and interviewing, and documentary analysis. Based upon the findings secured from this study, Taiwan’s recent plans for technical and vocational education place much emphasis upon Area-wide coordinating and programming, broadening participation bases, orientation towards long-term planning, matching of jobs and education, and formalizing planning procedures. In view of these, some policy recommendations are proposed for remodeling the future plans for technical and vocational education in Taiwan, the Republic of China. |
