There are 25 letters sent by Professor Pan Chong-gui(Shi Chan, 1908-2003)from overseas to Professor Lin Yin(Jing Yi, 1910-1983)in the collection of Jing-Yi Culture and Art Foundation. The content of the letter includes: their interactions, as well as the general situation of Professor Pan's research, lectures and life in Singapore and Hong Kong. It also mentioned the academic development and academic exchanges in the Nanyang region. This article first sorts out and textualizes the age and content of the letters, then supplements their life stories and interactions, and finally describes their dedication to academic development and scholar exchanges. This article can highlight another aspect of their influence on Chinese academic circles in addition to academic research and guidance of students. |
