The proposition of the ''Tang-Song Transformation Theory'' in historical periodization has sparked extensive discussions from various perspectives. Nevertheless, the study focused on classical interpretation and exegetical concepts. It started to investigate scholars in Song Dynasty, such as Liu Chang and Ouyang Xiu. These scholars transitioned from restoration to skepticism regarding the ancients, liberating themselves from the traditional Han-Tang exegesis that had previously confined scholars in a chain of transmission. |
