Due to the popularization of tea-drinking customs in the Tang Dynasty, tea has gradually become a daily necessity from a specific ethnic group. The Jianghuai region, including the Jiangnan West region, is one of the main producing areas of tea in the Tang Dynasty due to the climate and topography suitable for growing tea. This article mainly discusses the tea production in the Jiangnan West region in the Tang Dynasty, and explores the transportation and marketing of tea. After the Mid-Tang Dynasty, as tea gradually became a daily drink, the demand for tea was huge, so the output increased in response to market demand. At the same time, tea trading has gradually taken a place in market transactions. Whether it is the tea trade in the Jiangnan West area, the transportation of tea from the south to the north, or the sale from east to west, it shows that the production, transportation and trading of tea have become a part of the commodity economy in the Tang Dynasty. |
