The Taipei Women’s Rescue Foundation (TWRF) was founded in 1987, and workers in this organization devoted themselves to ending gender-based violence in Taiwan. The TWRF is concerned with the military sexual slaves during World War II and comfort women all over the world who were in a disadvantaged situation. Moreover, the TWRF continues to care about 59 Taiwanese comfort women and their families. Via different approaches to social work and art therapy, the TWRF makes use of helping the various professions to assist in this Taiwanese comfort women’s recovery. On 10 December 2016, the Peace Memorial Museum of Comfort Women and Women’s Rights (the AMA museum) was set up in memory of the Taiwanese comfort women. This study presents the opening permanent exhibition theme,‘healing and companionship,’its content and curating process, as well. Furthermore, the TWRF’s anti-sexual violence and museum studies’perspectives on representation shall be discussed, respectively. Through research findings, the public will have a better understanding of co-curating the permanent exhibition of this new museum and its meaningful process. |
