Trade facilitation is an important sector in the practice of trade freedom, and it is also an inevitable chapter of international bilateral free trade agreements and multilateral regional economic integration agreements in recent years, requiring signatory countries to implement trade facilitation to a high degree. The inspection on food safety and hygiene of food imports at border affects the efficiency of customs clearance of traded goods. The inspection measures and operations are indeed within the scope of trade facilitation issues. Taiwan, a member of World Trade Organization (WTO), signed the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA) and completed the ratification process. The TFA regulations should be followed and conducted by the Taiwan inspection authorities as Taiwan is one of the TFA members. The analysis results of consistency dressed current imported food inspection regulations of Taiwan were in line with the principles set by the TFA, and were basically consistent with the TFA in terms of implementations. |
