This study aims to investigate the effects of the structured play therapy on children with internalizing problems by case study. The case was a 7-year-old girl Her T-scores of internalization scale in “Child Behavior Checklist” and “Teacher Report” were 67 and 78, both were above the marginal clinical range (T 63). The case was invited to participate in the structured play therapy for 20 times (50 minutes per time).The study adapted both quantitative and qualitative research methods. In qualitative research method, it explores the transformation of the treatment process and the observation of her mother and her tutor. In quantitative research method, the case was given to the pre test- and post- test on “Child Behavior Checklist” and “Teacher's Report” before and after the structured play therapy, By the comparison of the pre-test T-score and post-test T-score, itwas found that the intervention of structured play therapy can improve the internalizing problem and the way of thinking. |
