We designed and analysed the effectiveness of the Landreth filial therapy model for 2 pairs of children who witnessed domestic violence and battered mothers. We adopted the embedded design of mixed methods in conducting this study. Part of the quantitative method followed a multiple probe design for the single subject across subjects, whereas the other part analysed a discussion from each section and an interview after the course. The research results were as follows: 1. the intervention exerted an immediate effect on parent-child interaction, which was categorised as a large effect size, whereas the followup and generalised effect showed individual differences; 2. the change mechanisms of the mother-child interaction and relationship involved understanding the children, the obvious involvement of motive, reflecting parenting behaviour, disclosing parenting attitudes, positive parenting attitudes, enlightened parenting, adjusting parenting behaviour, changing parenting behaviour, changing children's behaviour, a positive mother-child interaction, and identifying and preserving a marriage. |
