This study surveyed the introduction of life education-related curriculum in Taiwan's colleges and universities in 2020. It also reviews the literature on life education curriculum offered by Taiwan's colleges and universities in 2006 and 2013.
This study finds that (1) About 80% of colleges and universities offer life education curriculum, of which the Nan Hua University and Ling Tong University of Science and Technology offer the most in ordinary universities; 14 schools list them as compulsory curriculum; (2) life education related curriculum have the most 2 credits of general education electives; and the majority of curriculum with general knowledge and practical orientation are the majority, and (3) the teaching background of the life education related curriculum taught in colleges and universities is diverse.
The research proposals are: (1) In terms of research database, the search system can add elimination and other advanced functions, and can establish a digital database of curriculum materials of Taiwan's life education colleges and universities over the years. (2) In terms of future research directions, the scope of research can be increased, the syllabus can be analyzed to explore the curriculum content in greater depth, the differences between the major departments and the general studies curriculum can be compared, as well as the qualitative data to explore the differences between the three years and the differences between comparative professional departments and general studies curriculum. |
