This article aims to study the subculture between students, students’interpersonal relationships, and their interactions among parents and teachers via diaries. Diaries can convey messages between students and teachers in primary schools. Hence, it plays a vital role in education. This study uses a case study approach and takes a sixth-grade class taught by the researcher as the research object. Collecting students’diaries and feedback from the teacher as materials to conduct qualitative analysis. Conclusions are provided as follow: (1) The subcultures of student’s lifeworld including newest teen slangs, pop music and idols, internet influence, trendy items, and sports. With the perception of the subcultures of students, the teacher can discipline students to acquire good values. (2) With diaries, teachers can deepen their understanding of students’social relations so that they can handle students’issues related to bullying, friendships, etc. (3) Diaries can be a tool for teachers to build harmonious relationships with students, then offer them character education. If students have troubles in life, the teacher will have appropriate communication with their parents. |
