The phonological system of Ancient Tibetan as reflected in Tibetan spelling is in its main features tolerably well known. It has, however, a number of dubious points which, if they are not all of them in need of revision, should nevertheless in some particulars be subjected to a more detailed analysis. One of these is the problem of the exact phonetic values of the letters □, □, □, and which will be treated in the present paper. |
