The National Central Library is responsible for collecting and preserving national literature. Over the years, it has used library resources to cooperate with the publishers to reprint the ancient books or develop cultural and creative products. It also uses digital value-added products and innovative services to revitalize and promote library collections. To facilitate the utilization of ancient books, the National Central Library has compiled and printed paper catalogs of various types of collections such as ancient book catalogs and rubbing catalogs in the early days, and has selected ancient books from the library and cooperate with the publishers for reprinting. In recent years, in view of the need for the promotion of ancient books and the market mechanism, negotiating with publishers for authorized publishing has become one of the most important topics today. Therefore, this article will share the National Central Library’s experience in authorizing publishers to republish relevant ancient books, to transform the collection resources, and to make the ancient books in order to display their splendor. First of all, this article analyzes the current difficulties in republishing ancient books, and then discusses the current situation and achievements of authorized publishing of ancient books of the National Central Library, as well as the successful cases, and finally elaborates on the future direction of authorized publishing of ancient books. |
