The wave of smart manufacturing has accelerated the automatization of Taiwan’s manufacturing industry, and production efficiency is the primary key to industry competition. The production efficiency is greatly improved. However, the number of patent applications for CATIA in Taiwan is only 21 as of 2017, resulting in the lack of patent protection for enterprises when implementing secondary development methods, which will bring great risks to enterprises. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the key technologies of CATIA in international patent applications and to provide companies with reference for patent applications. This study analyzed the patent applications in China, the United States, the European Union, Japan, and Taiwan using the patent database from 1983 to 2020, and analyzed them by AHP hierarchical analysis and Delphi method, and use of patent search software to analyze applications for patented technology. The study found that the country with the largest number of patent applications is China, among which each country takes CATIA’s automatic design as the main patent technology layout, and the international patent classification numbers G06F 30 (computer-aided design), G06T 17 (digital computing or data processing and processing methods for specific functions), and G06F 119 (details related to the type or goal of analysis or optimization) are the most important technical applications of CATIA, among which the technology of G06F 119 is a fast-emerging patented technology and should be completed as early as possible. |
