Current research shown that the vibrator combined with resistance exercise could reduce blood pressure and arterial stiffness in hypertensive patients, and even more effectively improve blood pressure than resistance exercise alone. Therefore, this study explored the possible mechanism of vibrator combined with resistance exercise on vascular function, and provide reference and application for hypertensive patients. After reviewed the literature, the improved of vascular function by the vibrator combined with resistance exercise may be related to the range of muscle groups stimulated by vibration and the production of vasodilatory factors (e.g., nitric oxide) by lower extremity muscle perfusion, and regular vibrational processes that generate muscle pump to maintain the balance of cardiac output. In addition, WBVT (whole body vibration training, WBVT) combined with resistance exercise could be applied to hypertensive patients. In the future, the changes in hemodynamics and blood parameters at different time points can be explored for WBVT combined with different resistance exercise programs. However, attention must be paid to the vibration intensity and subjective feeling to ensure high safety of hypertensive patients during WBVT. |
