This study employs the social network analysis to examine social structures and communication networks of indigenous knowledge and cultural transmission, with a special focus on the patterns of acquiring indigenous knowledge and the process of cultural learning among indigenous youth in Orchid Island. Survey questionnaires and in-depth interviews are conducted to investigate their social networks, the experiences of learning indigenous knowledge, and media use. Based on the research findings, the influence and the potential of information communication technologies on indigenous knowledge communication within the current digital media landscape are discussed. |
