The present essay aims to explore the features of “Simple Speech with Abundant Meanings” and “Concise Writing” in Wang Ding-Jun's prose. Then discuss the formation of these two writing characteristics that emerge from his life experience. This study summarizes three major stages in the formation of his prose style: 1. The author is good at prose language by mixing the classical and the vernacular chinese, which is what the author calls “ The fusion of the classical and the vernacular “. 2. The precise wording of the words from the training of the gendarmerie school made Wang Ding-Jun's writing thinking based on the conciseness and refinement of the legal words. 3. The key to the formation in Wang Ding-Jun's prose style is related to the “small box” column in the newspaper supplement. Then discuss the formation of these two writing characteristics that emerge from his life experience. This study will help us to learn about Wang Ding-Jun's writing characteristics, his creative process and meanings. Such meaning has a dual nature, both to the author's life but also to the social significance of his time. |
