台灣戰後至80年代「美術設計」與「美工設計」用語的變遷歷程

The Evolution of the Terms 'Art Design' and 'Art and Craft Design' in Taiwan from the Post-War Period to the 1980s

設計（design）一詞是大眾所熟知的常用語，在台灣設計教育以西方設計史廣為所知，台灣在歷經日治與美援的過程中，卻也發展出與西方設計截然不同歷史樣貌。本研究主要目的探討戰後台灣「美術設計」與「美工設計」語詞的沿革變化，以及在實業與教育的影響。本文將透過歷史研究法收集當代的相關文本，由文章中解析語境脈絡，並探討大眾對於「設計」認知變化。研究結果如後述：（1）「美術設計」與「美工設計」語彙與認知歷經混用的情況，（2）強調技術導向使設計於實業界中無法擁有話語權，（3）80年代後「美工設計」以更名的方式提升價值感。

In Taiwan's design education, the design history of western is well known by students. However, In the course of Japanese rule and American aid, Taiwan has a completely different design history. The purpose of research is to explore the evolution of 'art design' and 'art and craft design' in Taiwan after the war. This article will use historical research methods to analyze the context of contemporary from the article, and explore the public's cognitive in 'design'. The results of the research as follows: (1) The overlapping of the terms 'art design' and 'crafts and arts design', (2) Technology-oriented design has no right of decision in the industry, (3) 'Design' enhanced the sense of design value by changing its name after 1980s.
