"Since the second half of the 1980s, there were a growing number of dramas and literature works focusing on the life in Military Dependents' Villages. In addition, the first Museum of Military Dependents' Villages was instituted in 2002. However, the representation of military dependents' villages were all identical, including in this museum. This article aims to investigate the representation of Military Dependents' Villages. By examining panels of the permanent exhibition, the visitor guide, and some literature works, this article will analyze: What words and images were used to represent the military dependents' villages? Were they the 'truth' of Military Dependents' Villages? The present study enhances the previous studies' findings by providing a much more detailed examination of military dependents' villages." |
