"With the continual development of science and technology, working from home is no longer restricted by the external environment, which greatly reduces the difficulties of the disabled employees. The researchers used purposive and snowball sampling methods, and in-depth interviews regarding the home employment experience of people with disabilities. From the perspective of empowerment and self-determination, the researchers summarized the interview data of 13 people with disabilities. This study found that at the personal level, working from home helps people with disabilities improve their self-determination capabilities, such as economic and time management independence, psychological empowerment, self-regulation and self-understanding. At the family level, working from home helps people with disabilities to recognize their ability to give and take, thereby rebalancing the power relationship between family giving and taking. At the interpersonal level, working from home helps people with disabilities maintain their original social network connection, increase the cooperative relationships with colleagues and social participation, as well as expand the social network." |
