"The study examines the current implementation of gifted education in Kaohsiung City from the perspective of 12-year Basic Education's concepts and core attributes. Stable gifted education in Kaohsiung City is promoted through execution contents such as the reinforcement of administrative organizations, the establishment of a gifted education network platform, provision of diverse training to teachers, and exploration of students' potentials. The promotion focuses and features of gifted education in Kaohsiung City are compiled as follows: 1. Continue to develop evaluation tools in response to the gifted evaluation requirements. 2. In response to the attribute-oriented feature, duly implement program teaching and the establishment of teaching examples. 3. Continue to organize diverse activities to inspire gifted students' particular potentials. 4. Optimize teachers' professional community and improve their professional knowledge and abilities. The future prospects are proposed as follows: 1. Establish a comprehensive work plan related to gifted education and develop a detailed gifted education evaluation. 2. Implement homogeneous evaluation services and arranging measures. 3. Promote creative programs and diversified teaching models. 4. Develop abundant teachers and resources and professional consultancy. It is hoped that the premium and innovative development of domestic gifted education would be recorded through the systematic planning and integration under the mid-to-long-term plan for national gifted education based on the execution features of different counties and cities. By doing so, it is hoped that teachers may become full of confidence and encourage more talented students to find their enthusiasm for learning." |
