"Regardless of the grade nine-year curriculum or the twelve-year national basic education curriculum, school-based curriculum evaluation has become the mechanism of quality assurance for curriculum design and implementation. A school is the site where the school-based curriculum evaluation is implemented. Therefore, this article takes the Affiliated Experimental Elementary School of National Pingtung University as a research base, conducting a research on the establishment of school-based curriculum evaluation mechanism by action research model. The establishment process can be divided into several stages. The first stage is assessment and preparation which analyzes the personnel, existing systems and tools for school-based curriculum evaluation. The second is to organize a core team and reach consensus across the school. Then, through group discussions, the school-based curriculum evaluation mechanism can be confirmed, including the evaluation subjects, key points, evaluators, implementation time, tools, and information and data which should be collected. Finally, tools will be developed or modified as required by the mechanism. At the end of the article, three noteworthy issues are raised. Firstly, the evaluation mechanism may originate from the school-based context only by considering the needs and goals of the school. Secondly, the proper mechanism can only be developed with the consensus and mutual trust of the entire school staff. Thirdly, the operation of the school-based curriculum evaluation mechanism depends on the school self-discipline spirit." |
