"This study aims to delineate the development of non-school-based experimental education institutions in Taiwan. It takes a non-school-based experimental education institution in Northern Taiwan as the case study. Through semi-structured interviews, the study investigates the predicaments and countermeasures of establishing and running a non-school-based experimental education institution. Furthermore, the study explores the impact of“Three-type acts of experimental education”on non-school-based experimental education in 2014. After analyzing the interview results, we found that most non-school-based experimental education institutions faced various diverging parental opinions in the beginning. Moreover, other major challenges included mistrust between parents and teachers, heavy teacher burden, high teacher turnover rate, and financial instability. In response to this predicament, non-school-based experimental education institutions must increase their frequency of holding parent-teacher meetings and parent-school activities for establishing parent-teacher trust relationships, enhancing parental participation and understanding of education beliefs. Regarding the future development of experimental education, although governmental laws have guaranteed such education's legitimacy, the sustainable development of experimental education still requires substantial governmental support." |
