Picture Books are not only children's books, but also teaching materials in elementary school. The reading process of picture books is regarding reading understanding and graphic narratives. It is also about information integration of pictures and the reading understanding of story form. In current studies, the education of languages is pay attention to the reading understanding of story grammar and text; however, the studies of picture books are pay attention to the art of graphic narratives. Therefore, the two studies have less academic exchange. This research takes on a document analysis method; apply in reading understanding, graphic narratives and story grammar, to build a route for understanding and applying picture books. The research results show three conclusions. One is pictures are easier understanding information than text; accordingly reading picture books can skip the problem about word recognition, and training to have an ability of surmise. Another is doing integration of pictures reading and text reading should have the prior knowledge and reading experience of graphic narratives. The other is when doing reading understanding of picture books, should base on the ability of surmise and integration of picture's information. |
