Bai-zhi and Li Kui-hsien, both were born in the same year, are veteran poets from Li Poetry Club in Taiwan. Both of them joined the Modernists in which the members were so massive in 1956. The two poets started to write poems from modernism very early. Their initial poems were also romantically colored, and then turned to realism. Their language tended to be simple and deliberately touched social reality. Both of them, with groundbreaking status, can be described as ''two representative poets of poetry club'' within the Li Poetry Club. This article describes the characteristics of their poems as well as the developing trajectories, and finally points out the similarities and differences between their poems in conclusion. |
